Tanya Khattra, Dentist
Dr. Khattra has been professionally involved in the field of dentistry for over 10 years. She has earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the University of Texas Health Science Centre at San Antonio. She has also received her IV Sedation Certification from the University of Alberta. Although she provides comprehensive general dentistry for the entire family, she is interested in treating kids. She has earned her Fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantology. She is a firm believer in continuing education to ensure that her patients receive the highest quality dental care. In her spare time, she likes music and loves to spend time with her kids.
Dr. Patel, Dentist
Dr. Tejas Patel was born and raised in India. After successfully completing his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the Faculty of Dental Sciences, Dharmsinh Desai University in India, he started his Journey in Canada in 2012 from Thunder Bay, Ontario, where he studied dental hygiene. Being an outdoor enthusiast, Dr.Patel selected Calgary, the heart of the Canadian Rockies, to practice dentistry. While practicing dental hygiene, Dr. Patel completed the equivalency process for the National Dental Examination Board of Canada and received his license to practice dentistry in Canada. Dr.Patel enjoys all the aspects of general dentistry. His primary goal is to provide the highest standard of Dental Care. He strongly believes in preventive dentistry, and he likes to build long-term relationships with his patients and to have them become informed participants in their oral health care. Dr.Patel is passionate about continuing dental education, and he possesses a keen interest in giving back to the community. He enjoys travelling in his spare time with his better half Cherry. And you can also find him enjoying outdoor activities like skiing, rafting, hiking and swimming.
Dr. Mark Haminishi, Dentist
Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD)
Dr. Mark is thrilled to join the Sierra Springs Dental team! He grew up just outside of Vancouver, BC and attended the University of British Columbia, where he received a BSc in Nutritional Sciences. After his time at U.B.C., he moved to Boston and attended Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his D.M.D. After attaining his D.M.D., Dr. Mark moved from Boston to Pittsburgh, PA, for a three-year Orthodontic residency at the University of Pittsburgh. Once he became an Orthodontist, he stayed in Pittsburgh and worked as an associate to gain more experience and hone his skills. In 2014, Dr. Mark and his wife decided it was time to return to Canada. He completed the Canadian dental specialty exam, obtained his Fellowship with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and became a registered specialist in Alberta. Dr. Mark is a top Invisalign provider and focuses on clear aligner therapy to digitally customize each smile. He’s the founder of Aligner Mentor, an Invisalign-coaching platform where he mentors and teaches dentists how to perform Invisalign treatment more effectively and efficiently in their own practices. Dr. Mark is a volunteer with the Smiles 4 Canada organization, and he volunteers with the Burn’s Memorial Fund. Twice a month, he also works at the Alberta Children’s Hospital as a member of the Cleft Palate Team. In his spare time, he enjoys running, golfing, and playing soccer and volleyball. Dr. Mark has two rambunctious kiddos at home: a daughter obsessed with unicorns and dinosaurs and a son who wants whatever his big sister has. He’s married to his high school sweetheart, both a scientist and a high school teacher. As a family, you’ll find them roaming around Costco for free samples, chasing the peacocks at the Calgary Zoo, getting their hands wet at the Telus Spark, or hopping a ride to ride at Calaway Park! He and the team are excited to meet you and answer all the questions you might have about straightening your teeth.
Dr. Laura Boghian, Dentist
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS)
Dr. Laura Boghian has been in dentistry for more than 10 years and earned her Doctor in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the University of Alberta. Since then, she has taken hundreds of hours of advanced dental education to ensure she always brings her best self to work. She is a firm believer in continuing education to provide her patients receive the best quality of care and information. Dr. Boghian has a keen interest in aesthetics, root canal treatment, oral surgery, implant dentistry, Invisalign and therapeutic Botox.
Outside of the dental field, Dr. Boghian enjoys reading, skating, and hiking. However, her favourite pastime is travelling and experiencing different cultures around the world. She is fluent in Romanian and French, which is helpful in the office and during her world travels.
Dr. Deb Crowfoot, Dentist
Dr. Deb Crowfoot is the second recorded First Nation Dentist in Canada.
He is married to Lorraine with seven children. Growing up on the Siksika Nation reserve, his childhood dream was to be a dentist and give back to his community and other First Nations communities. After graduating from the University of Washington, Dr. Crowfoot did just that, opening his first private practice back home on the Siksika reserve. The success of that practice allowed him to open nine other dental practices on First Nations reserves in Alberta and Saskatchewan. He has been performing mainly Pediatric Surgery as well as adult surgery under General Anesthetic for over 28 years in Edmonton and Calgary, with thousands of successful surgeries to date. He looks forward to serving your Pediatric Dental needs in Calgary and the surrounding area(s).
Jess, Hygienist
Jesse is a Registered Dental Hygienist from Windsor, Ontario, where she attended St. Clair College and completed their Dental Hygiene program. With her approachable and gentle chairside manner, she aims to provide a relaxed and enjoyable experience at the office. She is committed to promoting oral health and preventing dental disease through patient education. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, cooking and cuisine, sports, and travel.
